Things to Know Before Volunteering
Volunteering is unpaid work.
The Çatalkaya Ultra volunteer program is based entirely on a voluntary basis. Volunteers do not receive wages or allowances for their duties.
Transportation and accommodation are the volunteer's responsibility.
Arranging transportation to the event site or designated meeting point, as well as any necessary accommodation, is the volunteer's own responsibility.
We provide meals during your shift.
Çatalkaya Ultra will cover the basic meal, packed lunch, and beverage needs of our volunteers during their duty hours. For duties along the course, volunteers may utilize the facilities at the Checkpoints (CPs) designated by the organization.
The Çatalkaya Ultra fleece is yours.
Every volunteer who takes on a role will be gifted a Çatalkaya Ultra fleece as a memento of this adventure.
Duty locations and schedules are determined by the organization.
You may share your preferences with us during the application process. However, the assignment of duties is carried out by the organization team, taking into account operational needs, volunteer experience, transportation logistics, and race safety. Some duties may take place very early in the morning or during evening/night hours.
We come prepared for the forest.
Çatalkaya is a nature and trail race. Volunteers—especially those assigned to the course and Checkpoints—are expected to bring personal gear suitable for the conditions, such as weather-appropriate clothing, raincoats, warm layers, suitable footwear, mobile phones, and headlamps if necessary.
The most important duty: good energy!
We expect our volunteers to be respectful toward runners, fellow volunteers, the organization team, and nature; We expect them to be friendly and solution-oriented. Because sometimes, something more valuable than a glass of water is simply appearing before a runner—exhausted after miles of running—and saying:
“Come on! You’re doing great!”
THERE IS A RUNNER WAITING FOR YOU SOMEWHERE IN THE FOREST.
Volunteer. Share the spirit of Çatalkaya.
